Description
Merco Tape® M815 is a linered high voltage electrical tape. It is similar to our Merco M810 in that it is linered, and it is a self fusing rubber splicing tape. But that is about where the similarity ends. Merco Tape® M815 can be used as primary insulation and overwrap for splicing all solid dielectric cables through 69kV.
Merco Tape® 815 is highly conformable yet produces a tight, moisture resistant insulation without loss of electrical properties, even when stretched (which is what you are supposed to do. Stretch this.) It’s rated to 90C with an intermittent topside of 130C yet will not crack down to -40C. Flame retardant. Use this as primary insulation from low voltage up to 69Kv.
As mentioned this is a self-fusing rubber tape. That is, start the wrap, pull tight and it will stick to itself. By the next day it is a gob of rubber that can only be undone by cutting it off. No adhesive, no mess.
Although this will also work with lower voltage applications you can use our linered Merco Tape® M810 there and save some money. (Please note color of liner may vary.)
